Lawl. Corny post title. But this is just what this anime does to. It really does make me want to eat my favorite treats too. Not just because all of the delicious looking food that makes this anime so dangerous to watch while I’m trying to diet (but seriously, that food). It’s just damn cute and that makes want all sorts of sugary evilness all on its own. I don’t know why cute things affect me this way, they just do. I bought a whole box of munchkins to be prepared to watch the first episode of Kobato. (And no, I didn’t eat them all.)

The point is this series needed another little fangirling post because I just love it so. Why? I don’t know. My interests seem to change arbitrarily. I want to say that super cutesy anime is a constant, but it’s just not. Sometimes it will piss me off right off the bat. So why does this series succeed where so many others fail? I don’t know, but I think it’s proportionate to the amount of sugar damage it does me. The fact that it’s a perfect amount.

An episode with no random new characters for the week, development for characters we care about, the first promising sign of movement in Lulu’s story (she actually has a personality 2 weeks in a row!?), much Rima-tan love, and zomg they didn’t forget about Ikuto!

Whoever is writing these fillers recently needs to be in charge of more episodes because I’m totally not hating them. We’ve only had 1/4 bad fillers so far. This is unpossible and I demand to know who is responsible for giving me false hope for being entertained every week!

Utau~!!! Who’s the only character in the world that can be in an episode with a filler character and not makes all of us go, “meh” especially considering last week? Utau that’s who! My beloved tsundere idol Utau-chan!

OMG. I was actually excited about this episode before it aired. When was the last time that happened? Unfortunately my excitement immediately turned to despair upon seeing that new opening (I still want to cry when I see it). But I got picked back up pretty quickly.

Also, this is my first time watching it with the CR subtitles. So, lots of new things this week. A technically new arc, a new opening, and a new way to watch it. Let’s see how it all goes.

*sigh* Ara ara~ It’s the first time in my life I ever felt like saying that (or typing…whatever) but there it is. My, oh my, this series (and these characters) are trouble for me. We’re only in the second chapter, so my fellow Tanemura fans will have to forgive me for a little critique. Things that I can still notice before falling helplessly in love with a story and characters.

Also, because I haven’t gotten permission to really use scans from anyone scanning the series (I will be taking care of that before the next chapter), I’m going to keep it short this week and just discuss the one thing that really comes to mind for this chapter.

I got my wish(es). The Ikuto arc has started before the new year! Unfortunately the Lulu stuff is still going on, but for the meantime (at least in the next episode) Satelight is following my second wish.

That second wish, of course, pretty much guarantees Amuto in every episode.
