Summary of this post: ep 01 = new series, =/= Shugo Chara! continuity

Well it kinda (really) sucks. Though at least after watching it I understand why they made all the random add-ins and stuff. Even the regular part of the show (Dokki Doki) wasn’t exactly the Shugo Chara! we’re used to. As anyone will tell you, it only lasted about ten minutes. But I noticed right away that otherwise it wasn’t what I expected from Satelight.

There are weird spots of animation, but overall it’s a very well animated show. Especially for a shoujo anime. Especially for a shoujo anime aimed at younger girls. But that’s really no longer the case.

Booo for work. Another extreme fangirling chapter (though slightly less because plot takes up a lot of space) and I haven’t had time to get to the post until now. *sigh* But at least reading the chapter again put me right back in a good mood. One word sums up this chapter: d’aww. Well that and: “F— yeah. Right again.” Though this time almost everyone was right. With just the reasonable amount of doubt because…it’s CLAMP we’re dealing with here.

I wonder if I’ll ever get sick of getting to see the stuff I want though. But probably not, this chapter seems to end that (though there is still one possibility to extend it one more chapter). I’m satisfied though. I think I got everything I wanted except for one thing.

I’m graduating from high school today. In fact as this is publishing I should already be in my (ridiculous) cap and gown.

I’m currenlty 18 so it seems like everything went as planned, which it did…as far as plans go for the last five months. Even so, people may have noticed that I was behaving as if I expected some impossible obstacle to pop up until the very end. That’s because it was how I’d come to expect it to go after a couple of attempts to complete high school ending up in failure.

I missed one and a half years of high school due to an illness. I’ve talked about it before, so it’s not exactly like it’s a secret, though I refrain from mentioning it because I don’t want any of the reactions that come with that news, sympathetic or immature. What it was (or is) that kept me out of school isn’t important because I’m quite healthy and capable of functioning in every day life now. The point is that I am graduating exactly one year late because I simply couldn’t attend school. And as I’ve also discussed before, that has lead me to choosing one of my favorite characters of all time.

I watched and read almost nothing this week. I’m totally rundown from stress right now, so I have like no energy most of the time to do anything. I think people have probably noticed that from my lack of presence in the blogosphere lately. I haven’t been able to reply to any comments or do my own commenting on other blogs.

But I still managed to get a decent Weekly Extra post together by adding in a new section. I will persevere! Hahaha!

Oh yeah. And picture is totally unrelated. Sakura is just cute and Arina-sensei’s art is just awesome, even if I’m not loving Sakura Hime Kaden.

Ah…ah…ah~

What…to do…I think just taking a happy tone would be a spoiler when it’s me. But screw it. Most likely you’ve either watched the episode or you want to be spoiled anyway. My happy tone isn’t that big of a deal. (Plus the image kind of helps to spoil it, but I’ve been holding back too long.) As for anyone else, I’m sorry, but…well I’m selfish today so there!

Also, we will ignore the gap in blogging. Even though I wrote stuff about every episode up to 18, I just didn’t get around to posting it. Maybe when I do my full wrap-up post.

Oh yeah and spoilers beyond a happy tone past this point.

Well, the answer is no. At least I don’t think I am (hey~ you never know~). But I was thinking that way and I believe the question itself coming up has solved the question to one of my greatest mysteries. Though it’s less of a mystery and more of me just being naive and…well, it’s either stubborn or stupid. I can’t quite decide.

I’m talking about Skip Beat! and the fact that my coverage of it, despite switching to “arc posts” to make things easier, has disappeared entirely now. I’ve made vague promises of catch-up posts, but now it is very clear to me. I don’t want to do that at all.
