Arina Tanemura! Arina-sensei! Happy birthday~!

Yup, I’m pretty sure Arina Tanemura is my top manga-ka. I’ve never not loved a single multi-chapter series, let alone disliked anything. I can’t say the same for any other manga-ka I’ve specifically followed (CLAMP and Peach-Pit coming to mind). Of course, I love and respect all the manga-ka that make wonderful series…Arina-sensei is just my favorite. And we must fill the air with fangirl love for her birthday~

And thank goodness that I put her birthday in my google calendar almost a year ago. I put it in right after I started Simplicity and saw that I wouldn’t be able to do anything for Arina-sensei’s birthday because…it already happened.

*sigh* Ara ara~ It’s the first time in my life I ever felt like saying that (or typing…whatever) but there it is. My, oh my, this series (and these characters) are trouble for me. We’re only in the second chapter, so my fellow Tanemura fans will have to forgive me for a little critique. Things that I can still notice before falling helplessly in love with a story and characters.

Also, because I haven’t gotten permission to really use scans from anyone scanning the series (I will be taking care of that before the next chapter), I’m going to keep it short this week and just discuss the one thing that really comes to mind for this chapter.

…Is it fair to already cheat on all of my past Arina Tanemura loves and call this my favorite series from her? No? It’s too soon, isn’t it?

*sigh* Well fine. But after being an Arina Tanemura fan for a few years now, I feel like I’ve fallen in love with her manga all over again. We have something a little bit different, but with plenty of old sparks from some of her more “classic” series…and…yeah. I already fell in love with the raws, but seeing that wonderful dialogue just made my love complete!

So I have to thank Chiibi for translating and allowing me the use of her scanlation (scans provided by Yuuki Himura).

I suggest people don’t read my post until after reading the chapter, because I freely talk about everything in the chapter. (Though since I’m late I’m sure most people already read it)

Well, I did this for Mistress Fortune, so I decided to give my first impressions after just seeing the raw scans of Sakura Hime Kaden too. Too impatient to wait for translations!

Normally, I would have translated some pages myself (with my fail Japanese), but to keep going with the “first impressions” idea, I decided to do the same “fun” little guessing game. Feel free to shoot down my random thoughts. I’ll probably be shooting them down myself. Except for the fact that most of them are based on how pretty or cute certain things are…

Half-hiatus means filler posts are finally going to show up on this blog for the first time since…well really since the first month I opened it. Thankfully there’s Arina-sensei to look too, because she is capable of inspiring so much filler through fangirling.

Kelakagandy was nice enough to scan some images from the December issue of Ribon, which is the issue that announces Sakura Hime Kaden. And so it inspired me to do this filler (I am so lame that I need inspiration for filler posts).

It’s called “Sakura-Hime Kaden” [桜姫華伝 (さくら ひめ かでん)] which as a simplified, not exact translation, could be “Sakura Princess Legend” or something~ (I had to find the kanji and get help with the third one). So more specific might me “Sakura Princess Flower Legend” if you translate all the kanji separately (kaden in romajii doesn’t seem to mean much).

It should be starting in the…January issue of Ribon? Which would be released 12/01/08 (right?). I’m not sure, someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

Edit: Still don’t know what it’s about exactly, but someone translated the blue text and it seems it will be a historical series. The Heian era specifically (meaning SUPER pretty kimono drawn by Arina-sensei!)
