Simplicity is my own personal little anime blog. Me being, FuyuMaiden (not Simplicity, that’s just the blog).
This blog can be very opinionated and full of blind rage or blind fangirling. Blindness in general.
But it’s all meant to be fun. For me. And people who agree with me (or just aren’t sensitive little wusses). I’m not a professional and as such, can say whatever I want to say. Don’t take me too seriously people.
Simplicity started off as a free blog on wordpress. As you can see, it’s still there for linking purposes. Before Simplicity, I just rambled on about anime in my livejournal, which I titled Snowfall Night (there is no reason for that name except more just liking winter). The limitations of livejournal began to get to me, so I moved to wordpress.com. Limitations there made me decide to get hosting for my own blog. Originally, I intended to buy it all myself, but then Kokidokom was opened by 7 and after some illogical reluctance, I decided to jump on board. I moved around a lot, but now I’m good and settled.
The title “Simplicity” comes from the way I view all mediums of entertainment (including anime). “If I enjoy it, it’s good. If I don’t enjoy it, it’s bad.” You can list a thousand different flaws in a series I like and I will just laugh you off because it’s fun. That’s all that matters. Simple, right? Well, there’s your “Simplicity.”
Not to say that I don’t accept other opinions. All of this is based on a personal perspective. If it fails to entertain me, well it’s bad to me, isn’t it? Still pretty simple.
Obviously, all of my rambling in this blog is based on that same idea of Simplicity. Except that with too much rambling the simple idea can get lost. I hope that people realize I am incredibly biased in…everything. You should know that you really can’t expect unbiased views from a blog anyway.
It’s all about fun, remember?

I’m an incredibly average girl. Obviously I like anime and manga, at a fairly otaku-ish level (meaning it’s my main hobby), but that really just makes me an average anime fan at most.
I do just want to mention that I’m often sick. Not for sympathy or emoness, but so that people are aware of random unplanned breaks. I’m not often too sick to be on the computer (or rather, to focus enough to write), but it does happen. So please give me your patience.
But as a person…let’s see. I’m pretty even. (AKA dull) sort of person. Very polite in fact too. I’m not actually talkative in real life…until I’m with a good friend or my family. Then all hell lets loose and I’m a lot like I am on the anonymous internet. Though I can get into excessively polite moods there too. Anyone who’s sent me an e-mail probably got that vibe a little.
I also like to write fiction. Recently I feel any talent I had kind of diminished because I just haven’t been able to keep up with it, but I’m doing my best to get back into it with a brand new project I’m actually hosting on this blog.
But that’s really it. I’d say most things you’d learn naturally by being around.
Though one thing you could learn by being around should be stated for the record. I’m not always being serious. Most of the time I’m not actually. I do play up the fangirling a bit, because it’s fun to go all out. I’m a person who jokes around in real life and I blog much like I talk in real life. But without people completely knowing me, it can cause misunderstandings.
You can take it at a case by case idea, because sometimes things really do excite me. But if I’m ever adding EXCLAIMING LIKE THIS!!!11 I’m playing it up. I enjoy whatever it is, but not quite that much. Unless it’s shipping (especially HUGGING!!!11) Then I am always 100% serious about that.

Now then, the name FuyuMaiden. It’s an alias that is purely mine. One I created to be unique and uncommon so I could use it wherever I went. So FuyuMaiden can just equal…me!
The choice basically comes from the fact that ever since I was little I always loved winter and the idea of a girl in the snow just seemed beautiful. That is the simplest way to put it.
Now, now. Don’t get all on me about my love of anime adaptations of Key VNs and it just representing sad girls in snow. My love of winter and the images of girls in snow started way before I became an anime fan. I think it started with Disney’s Beauty and the Beast to be honest.
Still my favorite movie ever actually. (It’s so cute~)
But there’s a lot behind my love of winter. Snow is beautiful, I love winter clothing (scarfs~), Christmas is in Winter, Snow Days are a possibility in winter. There’s a lot of things to love about Winter. Somehow, I even love the smell of the air outside.
Then I fell in love with anime when I was older. I was a little geeky fan who wanted to show off how “knowledgeable” (pfft) I was by using a Japanese word in my name. That word was “Fuyu” because of my love of winter and because it just looked nice with certain fonts. I used the first version as a secondary name until eventually I became more involved with accounts that used it. But then part of the name started to bother me.
So, one day the idea of changing the other part to “Maiden” came to me. I’m not sure how exactly. But I always loved things that felt sort of fantasy/fairytale-ish and “Maiden” just feels that way to me. So I went with it. The idea also worked with anime and “sad girls in snow” and all that. So I figured it would be something anime fans could “get” on some level and I wouldn’t have to be asked about my name. Though it is nice to explain the full origin of it.
But it’s mostly about being unique. If “Fuyu” alone wasn’t popular, I probably never would have even picked up the Maiden part. But I did and since then I haven’t looked back!
