Last season aside from one episode she had no impact on the plot and this season seems to be going the same way.

Really?! Didn’t Shiina cause enough of an impact that downtimed Yuuto and Haruka’s relationship? Of course, this didn’t happen until the later half of the season.

I’ll agree with you that Shiina’s not much of plot device…but that’s because she’s more of a plot obstruction. Then again, there’s not much plot to explore anyway.

Nobunaga doesn’t influence the ‘plot’ much either, but look how awesome he is.

That said, sure third wheel characters can get pretty annoying, but that third wheel might be what is needed to bring the first and second closer, and spice things up in this linear ‘plot.’
