Picture Unrelated (as usual with these posts)
I’ve been missing for a short period of time. Normally I’d apologize about that, but I don’t really feel the need. It was a well-deserved break. I’m sure people (the one who matter) would be more displeased with me forcing myself onto the computer to just say sorry that I can’t get on when they hear the circumstances.
Anyway, the circumstances lead me to believe that a break has become necessary, so that’s exactly what I’m doing. Taking a break. But people should already be familiar with my inability to take a complete hiatus, so it’s more like…I’m not planning any posts. Stuff will just come out whenever it happens to come out.
So first the circumstances, I worked 18 hours total on the 4th of July weekend. 9 on Saturday, 9 on Sunday. The 9 on Sunday almost killed me (not literally, but you know). I had various aches all over my body from being overworked I suppose and my throat was killing me as well…maybe due to my night of wild shouting out of cars on Thursday combined with certain allergies.
Sunday was so bad that I tried to go home, but no one could stay for me, so I stuck it out despite the pain in my back bringing me to the verge of tears. But I’m an adult and I have to do things that are tough sometimes. I much prefer working through pain to staying at home, so anyone who thinks I’m looking for pity or any such nonsense needs to get kicked to the curb.
Now just let me finish explaining.
Monday didn’t go too much better even though I only worked three hours and I managed everything quite easily. My right knee was hurting me for another mysterious reason and everytime I moved too suddenly I’d get a sharp pain in my left temple. So noticable when I’m working, continuously moving up and down to replace packages of cups that a woman working insisted I take a break, leave early, or go to the hospital.
It’s gone now by the way and I’m going to a doctor tomorrow anyway.
But all of this made me realize that any little stresses need to be eliminated. That means that outside of work I’m not doing anything I don’t want to do. That includes blogging things that I blog more out of habit than any real need to. Quite frankly, I’m 18 (turning 19 in August) and I missed out on almost two full years of being a teenager. I need to get that wildness out of me before I’m too old to be shouting incredibly idiotic things out of cars. Ah…that was a fun night.
To put it simply, I’m enjoying more “normal” things like acting like a crazy person than sitting at home and…writing about the stuff I watched. Especially when it’s the 89-90th episode and I’m quite frankly running out of things to say. *ahem*
So, yes, this is mostly aimed at Shugo Chara!, which is really only one of two things that consists of “scheduled” blogging and the only one that brings about any stress being so popular on the blog. I believe younger fans need to try and understand my position. Shugo Chara isn’t the greatest thing in the world to me, even if I do enjoy it quite a bit. But I’ve been enjoying it more (especially during fillers) when I neither have to talk about or read about it.
I still intend to try and blog any episode related to the manga, but I’ll be playing the fillers by ear. Even if one happens to be incredibly awesome, I just may not be able to do it.
I’ve done 50+ continuous weeks of blogging one series. I am sure many other bloggers can tell you what a rare (and insane, considering the troubles it has caused me) feat this is. I deserve a pat on the back and being able to take it easy, especially when plenty of other people still have the steam to go ahead blogging the series with similar things to say.
I’m touched if you’ll be missing my “unique” opinion every week, but it’s either that or breaking my back from stress. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I’m sure I could manage it somehow.
Now, in other plans, Weekly Extra is still very possible, because it’s so open to different sections and quite easy to get out over the course of a week. But with the way my work schedule is currently shaping up, Friday seems a better day for it at the moment.
Sora no Manimani…I’d love to do it, but it’ll be on a “wait and see” thing right now. I’ll blog what I can, but if blogging starts hindering my enjoyment of the show, then I’ll have to skip certain episodes. No big deal. People who have read my episodic posts beyond Shugo Chara! are aware of how human I am, skipping weeks and bundling episodes together when it’s convenient for me.\
I’m still getting through as many First Impressions as I can as well, but I’ve been cutting down on what I’m watching this season. But the Taishou Yakyuu Musume post should be finished and posted (can’t say when for sure though).
apology image for rambling text (source)
So, to sum it up: the only thing you’re (somewhat) guaranteed to see weekly will be Weekly Extra on Friday instead of Monday. Shugo Chara! and Sora no Manimani posts will pop up when I feel like it (and at whatever length and format I feel like as well). I’ll also get through any First Impressions that I want to get through. Oh yeah and TRC is also “as I feel like it”, though I’d be more likely to skip chapters just to give myself something less to do than because I don’t like the chapter.
Oh I’ll also include what I wrote about episode 89 before I said “screw it” because of people spamming other posts in the next Weekly Extra. Also what I wrote write after watching episode 90. It explains more of my thoughts on the series and why I’m less into blogging anime-original episodes.
If you’re disappointed that I can’t do more, I’ll have to say I’m a little flattered that my opinion matters to you. But complaining and asking for more would be unwise. I’ll leave it at that. No apologies or anything, because I just explained it. I’m tired and worn out and enjoying life outside. Nothing to apologize for.
-
EDIT: For your entertainment and mine, I’m editing comments asking for Shugo Chara posts from now on. Striking their comment and typing what it sounds like they’re saying. After all, I just explained why it’s not happening. If they’d just read, they wouldn’t have to make an ass out of themselves or seem like a greedy little fanbrat. Granted, they probably don’t have much ill-intention, but it still makes me feel better. I’m teaching them a good lesson too! Take other people’s feelings into account and don’t complain about not getting the stuff you get for free.
Just call me Fuyu-sensei!

I’m happy that your taking a break…well not really happy cause I like reading about your thoughts on shugo chara and other things…but happy your stopping because your stress…not that I’m happy about you being stressed but…KNOW WHAT I MEAN RIGHT!
anywho I know what it’s like to do something for so long then stopping for a break is very relaxing.
Have fun :D

Oh poor you. It must suck having all of those fanbrats spam you with comments about Shugo Chara! Plus that stress is added to the stress taht you already have from work and stuff. It must make you feel like
. Those spamming fangirls need to STFU!
Anywho, I will miss your Shugo Chara posts, I have to admit, but you deserve your break from that. People should know that bloggers have their own active, personal, lives outside of anime(even me, a person who spends so much time on the computer that by the time I reach your age, I will be legally blind). They must also understand that a bloggers life does not revolve around one anime(they may be well-known for blogging that anime, but their life in general doesn’t revolve around it).
Well… even though you won’t be blogging Shugo Chara!, or doing those Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles chapter reviews every time a new chapter comes out, I still look forward to your future posts though they may not come as often as most people want them too(including me). Make sure to enjoy life!

As much as I will miss your SC posts, it’s good to rest and relax every now and then. Things that you somewhat enjoy should not give you unnecessary stress. Feel better and have fun with your life!

The break was completely understandable, and I’m glad you’re giving yourself one, considering those harsh circumstances. That’s a lot of work, especially on the holiday weekend. I’m glad your pain is gone now and you’re going to see a doctor. And enjoying the moments of being a teenager is always necessary, so have fun when you can! Lol, I wanna try to shout out of cars. xD
*nods in agreement with what Rin said*
It’s a shame that many people are dropping Shugo Chara, but it’s completely understandable, especially for you. The anime is just disappointing right now. It definitely is amazing to blog 50+ episodes every single week without a missing an episode. I tried the best I could to blog SC! every week, and I couldn’t do it. It simply is a great accomplishment. *pats your back* So a break in SC! is well-deserved and totally understandable. Yes, I’ll certainly miss reading your opinions though. Your blog was the first blog I read about SC! and it played a major role on making SC! blogging so popular. Your opinions were always fun to read, making me lol when it was supposed to, and made me think deeper into the show. So yes, I’ll miss your SC! posts. But obviously, health is the number 1 concern in everyone’s lives. I’d rather have you take care of yourself instead of pushing yourself to blog, which should be meant for fun and not forceful work. And everyone has their own real lives to tend to and enjoy.
Love the adorable Mihoshi image by the way. :D
I’m glad you’ll still be able to do your Weekly Extras at least though~ It’s better to just blog when you want to, so I’ll be looking forward to your all of your posts! Ganbatte!~ ^_^

Take a good break, you’ll need it. Relax and enjoy yourself a bit. I’m sure I would since I’m getting extreme pressure right now. Blogging is having fun when you’re doing it – never forget that. Looking forward to your new posts!

I feel for you so bad. The first time I had to work 9 hours/11 hours/4hours back to back I wanted to die. And kill everyone. But mostly die. I still haven’t got use to such a schedule and I am mostly in good health. I can’t imagine what a person would be feeling who is new to the work force and has conditions preventing them from working such long hours.
However Black Friday/day after Christmas/4th of July are the worst days in retail/fast food. The worst is behind you for now. Hopefully things can get back to normal and you can get use to a hectic schedule. I find it helps if you do light exercises on your days off so you can get your muscles use to constant movement and crap.
As for Shugo Chara I am like 3 months behind and I am sad to say I really have no motivation to catch up. And when you are not feeling a series it won’t be fun to blog it. It will come out snarky and mean and if you really love a series that is not how you want to come across. So I think it is better to take a break from something than feel forced into blogging something you aren’t feeling.
For me it is easier to have a blog about everything and not just anime. That way if I want to come home from work and rant about people I can. And you will find out that people find these posts funny too. XD Or sympathetic.
As for your aches and pains invest in a good heating pad. I always take Tylenol when minor pains/headaches happen and don’t wait until MOG pain hits me. And never, ever try to lift anything at work that you know you can’t lift. I see it as I am there to serve people the best I can, not be some servant killing themselves to make a sale. If you are hurting from lifting certain items tell someone or ask for help.

Aww! Poor Fuyumaiden! *huggles* You take a break. You do, after all, have a life outside of your blog. We all care about you more than Shugo Chara or Sora no Mani Mani. I hope you have a good, somewhat stress-free break! *is glad she doesn’t have a job yet*
July 7th, 2009
That’s… a lot of working. Hearing all of this makes me more scared for the future. My goodness. You should try to be a normal person though. Somehow, I feel as if blogging is kind of an obligation… once you start it and you have the followers and the free hosting and banners and layouts, you’ll feel as if you disappoint people if you slow down or even stop completely. That’s been something on my mind lately.
Oh my~ I’m sorry about your leg/knee injury thing. Wonder what happened. It’s probably best to take care of that right away. The people who just leaves things the way they are *points at my dad* don’t get anything out of it. In fact, they usually suffer more, huh?
*applauds for Fuyu~!*
I’m just dropping SC completely, unless they get back to the plot. I mean… it takes up time. I agree completely; there is really not a lot left to say. There would be if there was plot. But I guess not.
I agree too; Shugo Chara isn’t the greatest thing in the world. In fact, it’s probably lower on my list of favorites right now.
I respect you choices tons. It takes a lot to just… decide things like that I guess. And I really understand everything you talked about. Yay for people who manage and save their time~! XDDDD

I totally understand your whole break thing. Working 18 hours on the 4th of July weekend is just…blech.
So far I’ve seen a few people drop blogging SC! because Satelight has messed it up BIG TIME. I have to say, I have missed your blogs!
)
Anyway…The newest chapter of SC! made me…quite frankly upset. I mean, seriously? Ikuto’s leaving? That’s just…messed up. And Amu was all, “Even if things are going to change, as long as I have Ikuto by my side, things will be all right.” and then Ikuto breaks the news he’s leaving…part of me thinks it has to do with that random section where Souko and the Director were talking. But…meh, I dunno.
Y’know, this really makes me think that while the manga will probably go for an Amuto ending, the anime will be Tadamu. The only real big thing I have against that is this: Amu could never be really happy if she ended up with Tadase, because you KNOW she would drift off to Ikuto and get all sad. But if Amu went with Ikuto, then she could be really happy because she’s with the person she truly loves.
All right, I need to stop rambling about SC! But, in truth, I did kinda enjoy this week’s episode. The manga chapter was really good, even the ending, but y’know.
Okay, I swear I’m going to stop now. Enjoy your break!!! (Er, rather, keep enjoying it!
Oh, and random question because I have to…Are you going to blog next week’s SC! episode? I mean, being that it’s centered around Nagi and his soon-to-be chara. Oh yeah, and Rima and that one kid from that one episode…you know, the boy who had a crush on her? I’m almost mad they brought him back, but this makes me think we’ll get jealous Nagi…somewhat doubtful with what shape Satelight has left SC! in, but you never know.
All right, I’m really done now. Seriously, enjoy your break and take as much time as you need! We’ll wait for you.
July 7th, 2009
Aww~ I feel your pain Fuyu-san. If you’re stressed from work, I’m stressed from school. *sigh* Anyhow, it’s great that you decided to take a break from blogging and just enjoy yourself. Blogging isn’t fun when you’re just forcing yourself to do it, right?
Somehow, I too feel like it’s an obligation to blog, just like Lea-chan said but taking breaks are always useful to I dunno, freshen up? From experience, stress can affect my style of blogging so I really try my best to not force myself to do blogging when I don’t feel like it.
Also, don’t mind those rambling fangirls. What do they know? Don’t they know that taking screencaps and typing up one’s own thoughts is one tough thing to do. Let me see them try. Hmph. lawl~ But yeah, you shouldn’t let those crazy fangirls affect you; just be flattered that there’s a lot of people who loves your blogging.
And to be honest, yeah, SC! is so not the best thing in the world that you have to put it on your obligations. Those fangirls are just so low on insight.. *sigh*
We’ll support Fuyu-san~!

Well I can’t say I won’t miss the weekly updates for Shugo Chara. But hey, at least I know why. I was thinking you had died or something.
Well anyway I hope you’ll feel less stressed with not having to worry so much about it. ^^
July 8th, 2009
*whistles* You really worked hard and really deserve that break. Otsukaresama deshita.
To be honest, I’m quite amazed you still have quite a couple (yes, it’s quite a couple in my mind, haha) drafts you plan to publish and I can’t wait to read your impressions on summer so far. Which reminds me, gotta watch Sora no Manimani after my exam and when subs come out to really ramble on it.
But anyways, like what I said to Lea-chan (as weird as it’s going to sound), congratulations on blogging SC! continuously this far and just breaking off a bit from it for now. Through the worst filler crap and everything. It’s completely understandable and everyone who keeps hounding you for reviews needs to back off.
Of course that doesn’t mean your weekly awesome reviews won’t be missed because they really are. I know I especially miss them since two episodes ago and I’m not joking (but you know that, ne? heh). Kinda hard to explain but it just felt out of place as I was on rambling something I can’t even remember that well about ep 89 and 90 and didn’t see yours pop up on my Reader before or right after. I already figured you were busy but couldn’t help but go “Where did the voice of reason in the SC! blogosphere go? T_T” Haha, I’m always getting so angry or overexcited or whatever when it comes to this show so reading yours balances out my crazy stupidity and allows me to think more rationally about things that didn’t really cross my mind. Cuz Xiao is a madwoman running rampant on over emotional things and/or a gigantic sledgehammer with very violent intent. xD;
Plus, I think I’m so use to reading your reviews on Saturday (well, duh) that it became part of my weekly routine. I always looked forward to them, even if we disagreed on a lot of things (haha, oh yea), so it was a surprising a bit for me the past two weeks.
Ah, before this gets too corny and even more weird (cuz it’s not like you’re giving it up completely or anything), just wanted to say I’ll miss your thoughts but I completely respect your decision to just do things differently. Relax, take a breather, have fun but hey, what’s with all this screaming out of cars? o.O;
Lol Well, you just hang in there, do your best, feel better, blog whenever you want, have fun and enjoy your summer like you should (and be careful, jeez! xD; ).
Feels odd to say this at the end of the comment but thanks for always putting up with my prompts, too. Naw, naw, you don’t have to apologize for it being late or anything cuz like I said, I completely understand (hell, I’m falling behind, too ^^; ). And if I ever caused you any stress over them, I sincerely apologize. Really didn’t mean it to come off as your homework or anything. Gomen, gomen! >.<
But I still enjoy reading them (as always and the last one especially, hehe) and I’ll try my best to make the tournament more flexible without falling behind (so you can go on pimping your girls, lol).
Ah, yea…oh, I still have to send you those scans. I’ll do it this weekend. Sorry about the lateness.
Looking forward to Weekly Extra and take care, you tsundere idol. :D

But anyways~
Have a great break, Fuyu-san.

That work sounds really stressful, so I’m glad you’re taking a break. I’m not a blogger myself, but blogging is probably something that should be done purely for enjoyment. Forcing yourself to blog when you know its bad for you just wouldn’t be right, so I hope you don’t get a lot of complaints for taking a hiatus.
And even without the added stress of work, I bet having such a popular blog can get annoying when so so much is expected of you.

Shugo Chara isn’t the biggest thing in the world, but it’s lovable, and I’m a fan of it, too (Can’t really follow the anime after 50+ episodes
…but I still follow the manga though)
Not a lot of blogs follow an anime so faithfully like yours, so you deserve credit. No need to apologize.
Enjoy your break, then. Will be waiting for your posts until you feel like it. Just take it easy

Blogging is fun, but not worth breaking your back or anything else for. You’re probably the only one who would blog Shugo Chara for so long, and you’re really faithful to it. Fuyu-sensei is awesome for that!

You really deserve a break. I just have to say this: You’re great. Just enjoy yourself. ^^
And like you said, Shugo Chara isn’t the most important thing in the world. It’s fairly enjoyable, but if someone doesn’t blog it, it’s not like it’s going to be the end of the world.
And that fan brat should really realize that you need a break. You’ve been blogging almost non-stop for a long time, and it’s a well-deserved rest. Your work sounds stressful.

So like I said, refresh your mind and relax! Have a nice and enjoyable break!

:D Have fun with your break! You DO need one, considering how much you do for us! Don’t overwork yourself, it ain’t healthy xD I used to center my whole life about writing stories I had and trying to update almost every day or two, it was horrific. Again: Excellent job, keep up the good work, and enjoy your break!
