This week I’ve introduced a new section (again!?), changed another section temporarily (to cover something awesome), gave thoughts on Key’s newest project (Summarized as: Yay~!), and started making some progress on my anime backlog. And oh god the number of Random Thoughts!

I live in America so I have no excuse not to.

I caught up with Phantom this week and it was awesome. Bee Train and I can have a cease-fire for the rest of the series. I’m not ready to bury the hatchet yet because of the multiple endings I’ve heard about in the game. I want a good ending. I’ll leave it at that, but Bee Train gets busted down further if they do an asshole move and don’t give a happy ending where there is a chance of one. This isn’t School Days, it won’t be funny if there’s a bad ending!

But yeah, I sat down and watched episode 2-8 all in one sitting and Ein has successfully skipped up the rankings to become my favorite girl of the season. I didn’t think I had a thing for silent moe, but apparently I do when it’s incredibly adorable. Or more like I have a thing for silent girl when they suddenly show emotion and then I want to hug them with all sorts of craziness. Ein~ I really hope you get a happy ending.

Of course things have happened a lot quicker than I imagined so I wonder where it’s going to go from here. I’m totally up for weeks of The Bourne Identity style running away and stuff. With some Ein x Zwei (oh wait Reiji) lovin’ along the way~ Though episode 9 makes that seem a little more difficult. But whatever. I still want it.

Now then to talk about it overall, Bee Train is doing very well with the series, though I find it odd how we like never see almost any of the people they kill when they die. It usually cuts away and stuff and that’s just so weak. But anyway, I’m more pleased with the animation than I was in the first episode because the action is always in such short bursts unlike the first episode (and a few after that) that the lack of “flow” doesn’t matter all that much.

Anyway, really just bring on the romantic storyline for the rest of the series and I’m one satisfied girl. Oh yeah and kill that certain whore too.

I still need to watch the newest episode though, so forgive me if my thoughts are already outdated. But no matter what, I want a happy ending with romance! Then I will declare this anime a success!

Manga

RAWR! MOAR Faster than a Kiss! What’s with these quick releases after so many months of nothing? Did someone other than me realize how great this series it? Two more chapters of Faster than a Kiss came out when I wasn’t looking. Well actually I caught chapter 8 when it showed up, but then I realized that it wasn’t the one that came after what I saw…so I got spoiled on something. But who cares about any of that. 2 chapters at once! I feel more spoiled than I did when I got to read the first volume’s worth of chapters online. So good~

Chapter 7 had Fumino and Kazuma going on the date “far away” promised in the last chapter, but all of the usual people tag along. Fumino’s little brother (of course! They’re orphans) and that pesky neighbor of their who is always alternating between helping Fumino and cockblocking…and usually his help isn’t help at all, it’s just fun~

Don’t just confess to any girl that’s nice to you, Idiot!

But of course the cockblocking loser who doesn’t get it this chapter randomly shows up in the same place (wtf!) and he confessed to Fumino in this chapter and gragh! I want to throw him off a six story building! Get out of my raburabu shoujo manga!

It’s actually okay though because Fumino reject him straight out. That was the thing I was spoiled about and I was expecting it to be some stupid cliffhanger at the end of the chapter but it wasn’t. Leave it to this manga to turn that into my raburabu moment. Sensei comes to save the day~! And then he issued that awesome challenge, “If you like her take her away from me.” Yeah be a man you loser! Don’t just talk like an idiot! Put some action into it.

But who cares, you’re gonna lose anyway.

Because the moment that followed when Kazuma had to chase after Fumino (because she got all flustered and confused and stuff~) had a 2 2-pages spread. show

My god I love this manga. (Awww, even though there was no housewife cosplay in chapter 7) Now onto chapter 8! The start of volume 3! There’s 4 volumes released in Japan, so I can believe we may catch up? At this pace, yes, but this pace will spoil me I tell you.

This time the class is doing a play and even Kazuma has a role as the evil queen. Fumino is a prince and she’s embarrassed about loser boy being her horse (wtf? A horse!?).  And loser boy still hasn’t give up and got excited over walking Fumino home, but too bad you idiot! Fumino’s only got her Sensei on her mind. When she told him she got pissed he wasn’t jealous. And this happens:

It’s okay. Just this once I won’t hide it because in shoujo manga this isn’t spoiler at all. It’s totally expected.

There was a pervert lurking around all chapter and Kazuma saved Fumino from him, blah, blah, blah, and idiot loser saw and got to see how hopeless his situation is but still probably won’t give up, blah, blah, blah. Earlier in the chapter Fumino landed on top of Kazuma in a jealous little fit, you know? This stuff does not compare!

Then at the end another kid that’s been lurking around turns out to be Kazuma’s younger brother. Not sure what to make of it, but if I keep getting my 2-page spreads I’m good.

I don’t ever understand the dialogue when those spreads show up. My brain just turns to mush and I stare at it with a stupid smile on this face. God this manga~

Music Video of the Week

Yoko’s S.t.a.r.S

Well of course it’s gone now, but trust me, you’ll see it and it’s awesome~

Well, there probably were some AMVs this week that deserved a spotlight, but I don’t care. I’m too lazy to do an extra section so for this week it’s “Music Video” of the Week instead of AMV. Because Kirameki Yoko Box ~pieces of sweet stars~ came out! And I am most displeased at the lack of acknowledgment this is receiving.

Well for those who are out of the loop, Yoko got like her own idol video and single announced a while ago and now it’s out and it’s all so moe and awesome (lol and faservicey). The moe is surprising because Yoko is more awesome than moe, Nia usually has the moe covered. Marina Inoue (Yoko’s seiyuu) also surprised me by sounding so properly idol-ish when I also see her as more awesome. It’s hard to explain, but hopefully you’re getting what I mean. What’s not surprising is the amount of fanservice, but it’s Yoko so it’s kind of part of her charm in a weird way. You just have to be a Gurren Lagann fan to appreciate it, you know?

Of course it’s not all just moe-moe dancing (with the other girls too~), but Yoko pulls out some hawtness because she’s Yoko and she’s hot. Super Model Yoko was probably my favorite part. That was just so beyond epic. Especially with the way the art changed just for that part. Yoko is really so awesome. Oh and then the part that followed it, Yoko in the convenience store. Gah, so good. I can’t say why it’s good because that spoils it, but it was good. Also seeing the two Yoko’s dancing together was great. Regular Yoko and Idol Yoko~

Oh God I just want to ramble on about the video all day, but I have no idea what to say. I mean I’m more of a Nia fan being the type of girl I am, but this reminded me of how much I loved Yoko in the beginning before Nia showed up. Also Marina Inoue love is alive and well with this single. I’m listening to it all the time now.

But the video is what really sells it. So many Yoko’s~ I really love Gurren Lagann for this sort of thing. I wonder if we’re getting stuff like this for other characters. I don’t think they’d be as good (yes, even Nia), but I’d totally still love to see them.

Looking Ahead

The rarely seen section is back with this news about an Angel Beats anime, the newest series from Key. As a key “fangirl” (I find it difficult to call myself a fangirl in any fandom populated by boys, but I do love anything from Key that I come in contact with), I suppose I should have a few thoughts on this. And I do.

First of all, the announcement prompted many mixed reactions in different place due to some “issues” I find to be non-existent. I blame Haruhi and KyoAni (who aren’t even connected) for having that following that makes me want to shout: “CALM THE F#&% DOWN!”

• KyoAni better animate this! – Yeah KyoAni better not. I know nothing about Angel Beats (aside from it’s pretty CG artwork~) so I couldn’t care less who animates it. Aniplex has the production and they’re awesome. And according to early info A-1 Pictures has animation. So HA! A-1 is who I hoped for right away actually since they did Kannagi with Aniplex. And I remember everyone going on about the KyoAni-ish animation when it first aired. And that’s good enough for me because of the next point.
• Where’s my Little Busters!? – Along with other stuff like Planetarian (which would be a nice OAV but not necessary to me) and Tomoyo After (pfft, it’ll get a 3 episode OVA tops). This actually I agree with, but Angel Beats is an anime production. Little Busters! will be an adaptation. They’re not both tied to the same company. Calm down.
• It looks too much like Haruhi – Apparently headbands + confidence = Haruhi these days and if the girl looks like Haruhi at all then all of the details released will be compared to Haruhi. SSS Group = SOS parody!!!!11 TOTALLY!  My response: I have my doubts. Calm down.

Here’s my overall feelings: Will watch the anime. Will probably love it. Will probably find a girl to worship and love. Will probably even do episodic blogging.

I’m really excited for this series. It’s basically an anime straight from the Key staff. No adaptation to wonder if things are going as planned. And if there’s romance, OTP is absolutely the OTP! Plus there’s other stuff: I see blood on the website. And apparently it takes place in the afterlife and there’s angels. If I didn’t want to watch it for Key I’d totally be into it because of blood, angels, and afterlife combined with cute girls. Awesome.

If all of the anime I want to come out in Fall including this one now though, I’ll die. Kobato is confirmed and so are some other series I’m interested in possibly doing episodic blogging for. If this and Little Busters! both somehow came out in Fall too, I’d have to drop one awesome series from blogging. Or maybe not, since Shugo Chara! will have ended by then.

Anyway, getting ahead of myself since it probably won’t happen. Though it would make Fall 2009 my undisputed favorite season forever.

Fuyu’s Wishlist

New section because even if I can’t buy everything, there’s plenty of stuff out there in the world I at least want to mention. Only one thing every week though. That way some stuff can be kept secret for the day when I get them and brag to the world~ I’ve fallen in love with so much merchandise that I just may not collect much manga or DVDs anymore.

But I’m rambling. I’ll start off the new section this week…with a plushie.

OHMYGOD IT’S RIN! I WANT HER! *throws a fit for hours on end*

I only have one plushie right now. Just my Tsubasa Sakura one and she’s darn cute, but I want more!!! So many more things in this world should be plushified. I admit though, I never thought of Rin from Little Busters! as being one of those things, but she looks so darn cute. Her smile seems a little out of character (thought not with later images really), but who cares she’s a plushie! And that blank doll expression is just so cute!

She’s about $30 (USD) and I found her on Hobby Search. And oh I want her so badly. It’s too bad she’s coming out in June since even that is a little early for an early birthday present (my birthday is in July). This seems like something that would just make a perfect birthday present. Open a box and find an adorable doll inside! It would take me back to my childhood.

Really, seeing this plushie made me remember how much I really do love plushies and all of the injustice that we don’t get more. I would love to have a Rima (from Shugo Chara!) plushie like this Rin one. Rima’s already making adorable blank doll face, just change the smile to an incredibly blank expression and she would be perfect!

Ah!!! *throws another fit*One thing is for sure, I’ll do whatever I can to get this plushie. The only thing that would make possibly her better is if she came with a tiny little stuffed cat. D’aww Rin~!

My Summer Preview is here~ Hurrary for all the self-pimping and graphics that go along with it!

The widget is up, my Schedule page is updated with all the series I have even minor plans to cover, and…well that’s really about it. Regular updates I’ve made during the week to the post will be covered here for the heck of it. Without any rambling and just a list under my pretty graphic.

Really my preview is the most selfish thing around and isn’t built on offering information. It only covers what I think I might watch, so I only get a little nervous when I get new visits on the post. Because of this I already have plans for the format in Fall. I’m thinking about just adding in brief one-line thoughts based on the brief chart info to make sure people realize there are other anime. Even if that thought is just: “Pass”

Another change caused by my preview is my sidebar arrangement. I got rid of the Kokidokom separate links so they’re just blogroll members again. Then I made SoMT’s widget what will be a pemanent “Promoting” widget at the top. And I finally added in the Kokidokom…stuff to right above the blogroll. Thing look better this way to me. And I’ve been meaning to add in the Kokidokom stuff. I resized them for my sidebar ages ago.

It should also be noted that my blog icons on AnimeNano and Kokidokom have been changed to showcase proper Rin support until I get my Little Busters! anime! RAWR! Or until I get another really cute image and get sidetracked. Which will actually be happening soon when Megane Yoko replaces Rin. I just changed to Rin though so I’m at least sticking with her for a week!

Random Thoughts

Proper Chibi

What is this? – Well along with my new wishlist section I can tell you there’s one thing I found this week that will not be appearing. This chibi Shugo Chara…stuff. I don’t even know what they are, but they all look bleh. I didn’t even have to zoom in on them to go, “Wtf is up with their faces?” because no characters looks like themself to me. Blech~ Do not want. I can’t believe they’re sold out. Then again some people aren’t insanely picky about faces like I am.

But seriously, bleh.

Crunchyroll Forums in General Still Suck – I only ever bother to pop into announcement threads because I get enough random “wtfstfu” comments on my blog every so often that I don’t need to seek them out. However, their announcement on Kurokami being shown *shockgaspwha* dubbed was amusingly stupid.

It just reminds me why forums in general suck and I never go to them. What’s the point of like 10+ pages of, “Dubs suck” or “Looks interesting!” or “This anime sucked.” I can’t think of anything else that can be more of a waste of time. It’s not like these people should believe anyone cares what they think. Which is why I prefer blogs so much more. I only have to read the opinions of those I do care about, not some random strangers with a high opinion of themselves.

Of course with CrunchyRoll the “dub-rage” is especially amusing because at least 75% of them know where to find the subbed anime elsewhere. They’re just lazy, cranky idiots that feel like complaining about every little inconvenience. “Oh I didn’t watch this show w

MOAR Anime! The Abridged Series – Everyone seemed to love the first episode which parodied shoujo so just in case anyone forgot to subscribe (what is wrong with you) I’m just going to leave the link right here for the new episode. It has robots. GIANT ROBOTS. I expect this one will be less popular among my blog readers because most shoujo fans don’t watch as much mecha (what’s wrong with you guys giant robots are fucking awesome~) but once again if you do watch it as a fan of the genre, you totally find a bunch of series that come to mind immediately. I got Gundam SEED, Evangelion (which I still haven’t finished and will be killed immediately for admitting as much), and Kurogan no Linebarrels (watched first episode only) right away for some specific series that used these cliches. Sometimes it was two series at the same time.

Most epic line in the episode: “You may have killed me…but I didn’t die!” (Oh come on it’s not a spoiler) I call that line Sunrise-specific, but since they basically run all mecha these days it’s the same as being generalized mecha basically. Oh and fighting outside of a robot reminded me of this, though I’m not sure that’s intended, but it is lulzy and awesome. Yes both. (I watch that video every day for my breakfast. It fills me.)

Basically once again, awesome for fans of the genre. Watch it. And subscribe this time fools!

Clouds, rainbows, adorable smiling girls…this is moe heaven!

I ♥ CD Art Again – The singles’s album art was getting pretty reptitive with Amu smiling in sometimes creepy ways, but pretty much always OOC just to be cutesy and mahou shoujo-y with her charas and it got old. This lasted until Shugo Chara Egg! releases, but then those always had Amu’s chara-nari’s to match the singers’ costumes. But we finally got some art I could really appreciate with the My Boy release. Love triangle (still want Tadase to butt out of my Amuto song) and just a mopey Amu (I thought her nose looked weird, but at least it’s an expression she would make outside of promotion art).

Now the new band also takes their costumes and name from the show, The Guardians 4. Which means…Guardians cover. But not just guardians, the girls are girls so…just the girls! Rima, Amu, and Yaya moe x3…x2! Oh they’re both such cute covers. I couldn’t be happier. They still all have those wicked smiles going on, but when they’re all together it just seems to fit more. Like yeah, “This is blatant moe promotion, but who cares!”

Of course, random differences in the art like with the My Boy album where the lines were all thin and Amu’s nose looked weird in her solo one, this time one of the covers makes the eyelashes too thick and weird. It’s the one where they’re jumping, they look kind of chibi too. But the other one looks especially good and I…really love them both. Girls are awesome. *tears of joy*

Which brings me to… – Ah…I think my love for girls is increasing at a creepy rate which could make people wonder if I’m a fanboy. Though I guess it really just means I’m living up to my Fuyu-neechan tag…which started off as a joke by the way. I’m scared of myself now.

Criminally Cute - I made a criminally cute tag on Kokido-chan (beware that page is dangerous). No one is allowed to decide what is criminally cute but me. If you tag something “Criminally Cute” that isn’t, I will hunt you down. Or just erase it…whatever. It’s also on my blog so it is now mine forever and ever. As you could guess, “Criminally Cute” is a whole new level of cute~! and isn’t for amateurs.

Oh god not just twintails, but gothic lolita!?

FINALLY! Honoka-chan~! – She got a poster in issue #110 of Megami. I’m so happy. Except that the poster could have been drawn better. I finally get Honoka in pigtails (and zomg gothic lolita~) and I’m just distracted by how her head looks too big. They should have done a different perspective.

But I still kind of want it~ But looking at the other posters in Megami, I’m not sure if anything else is worth it. I do like Yoko’s (hawt~) poster which is inspired by her new video. Though far right Yoko would make me hesitant about wanting to hang it up in my room. I still kind of want it somehow though. But I do admit to being disappointed at no megane Yoko. She didn’t really show up in the video much though so it’s probably to be expected.

I’d probably hang up the K-On! and Haruhi-chan posters for the heck of it. If they’re on different sheets of course. The one from Phantom I have no interest in though, I don’t even think I know who that girl is. I want a Meido Ein poster. How could Megami miss out on something so awesome?

Fanboys did it again – They destroyed Azusa for me the very instant she appeared in the anime. Though she was already getting ruined by the 4-koma too. I liked her at first, but then it just became pandering. People give a lot of crap to KyoAni for making Mio too moe, but it’s really not that much different from the 4koma from what I can tell. Mio just got overbearingly moe over time anyway.

Basically, I don’t like any girl in K-On! now (except Mio in the ED). I’m sticking to my shoujo moe for a while.

In other news, I got a job. People have been wishing me luck in that pursuit for a while now, so I wanted to let everyone know. It’s just a silly little part-time job, but it’s been hard to find due to a few circumstances. I live in a rather isolated town, for commuting I had a relatively small area to work with. There’s an oddly high number of kids in my town that didn’t leave for college (oh wait, that’s not odd, our high school sucks). They had their diplomas and I didn’t so it would make sense to hire them. Then there was the “sky is falling down” mentality that the economy troubles put  people in. Back at the end of last summer, one job was almost a sure-thing until the big panic and five job openings turned to one. No luck since. Until now.

I’m also surprised by how well it’s working out. I’ll be working at Dunkin’ Donuts (yay basic part-time job~) and I probaly get to do the later shift until midnight which is when I usually have the most energy. Oh and some likely discounts on coffee coolattas. Score!
