As you can see, I am intending to blog White Album regularly after all. Why? Because I’m rooting for the rival, man-stealer and that pretty much automatically means I’ll have something to say every week. I have to make up some lame excuse for her actions every week after all.

Because…quite simply, Rina is Awesome (in case you hadn’t heard).

Everything that Yuki lacks, Rina has, so it’s nearly impossible to feel bad for Yuki when there’s such a goddess of a woman that she’ll have to compete with. When you’re up against someone that great you need to step down and learn your place!

Or at the very least try to be less lame.

On a note less related to the girls though, watching this episode sucked. In case you didn’t hear, my headphones are broken. So watching this episode was such a pain. My speakers suck because I didn’t bother getting good ones since I always use my headphones. So I had to wait until late at night when the house is quiet to watch it and even then I couldn’t enjoy it as much.

One of my few joys from watching White Album comes from hearing Nana-sama sing! What am I supposed to do when I can’t hear it properly!?  DX

But it’s okay. I ended up with new headphones so it was all good when I was watching the raw to get screencaps.

Summary

Rina > Yuki, bicycle girl needs to take a hike and library girl seems completely irrelevant. Good enough for you?

Alright, so basically Touya just spends time talking with every girl this week.  Bicycle girl comes to his apartment, Rina and Yuki show up at the cafe (in disguise) where Rina gets Touya’s phone number, Touya calls library girl when he finds out she missed a day from his friend Akir (or whatever), and at the end he gets a phone call from Rina.

Really though, I have to say this now, I’m never going to be able to give good summaries. I’ll just write down enough to explain the basic relationships I think.

Thoughts

Well, it’s not really any less boring than last time. There’s still unnecessary things with boring characters and developments presented in a weird way so I have no idea what’s going on.

But hey, at least I have Rina.

Do you know why I love Rina? Because she basically has control over everyone else. She can get almost anyone to do whatever she wants them to. If Rina asks for ten minutes, you will give her ten minutes. Even if you’re a strict manager-lady.

But even so, she’s merciful! She doesn’t just weirld her power unncessarily. She takes mercy upon the pitiful (like her manager…).

You. Go away. There has never been a more boring or annoying character in any anime like this ever, every before.

Slight dramatization, but still. I want her to go away. If a character doesn’t talk a lot for non-comedic reasons it generally leads to them being incredibly boring. And that’s what’s happening here. Make her go away. I can’t even tell what her purpose is in the story aside from the fact that she was a heroine in the game so I guess they just want her in here too (but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s boring).

Impromptu disguise that has Rina in braids? Do want. More Rina in braids please. Ah…is this another character with full wavy hair that I will demand to have in twintails? Perhaps (though it’s not quite as good because Rina is older).

Quickly, I’d like to explain why Rina is the most interesting character to me (besides the obvious “she’s awesome” and “she’s voiced by Nana-sama” explanations).

She seems to actually care about Yuki and the two really seem to be friends, yet we know that Rina is going to go after Touya because…that’s the story. But she doesn’t seem that way at all.

So really, yeah. I think it’s interesting to see how things are going to unfold for Rina. Everyone else, I really couldn’t care less about because they’re either already boring or I can imagine things being boring on their side. Rina promises me some inner-conflict and drama!

This crying scene freaked me out. Did I hear everything right? Yuki was crying like that because she was happy? That makes no sense whatsoever. And moreover, wtf was making her that happy?

…If I was Rina I would have pushed her to the ground when I heard her say that she was happy after crying like that. -_-;

I’ll give Yuki some benefit though and say it’s just the weird way this anime executes things where so much makes absolutely no sense. That’s not for story development, it’s just sloppy in my opinion. Secrets are good, but make things understandable please.

I’m getting more used to scenes like the one in the cafe. Still boring, but now I’m just kind of accepting it as some weird slice of life that I can’t expect to see the relevance in most of the time. Still wish they kept boring stuff out though and made the characters more interesting. Right now I think even Touya’s friend (Akira, right?) is more interesting than Touya. He’s just way too incredibly ordinary I think.

Idols in disguise made me laugh. Perhaps because for once they were doing it right? Rather than just a pair of glasses on with maybe a hat. These girls got scarves on! You try to recognize a face through that!

Though they did end up looking quite suspicious.

Yuki’s disguise failed, but Rina got to unveil herself in an incredibly dramatic way (okay not really, but still). Showing that Rina is once again, in control of the people around her.

Of course, I do find it odd that after they recognized Yuki they didn’t bother to ask who the person (also in disguise) with her was.

Oh Rina. There is no need to question why you would be anyone’s goddess. You are Rina-sama! You are in control of everyone around you and are the best idol ever~! Because you’re a confident idol voiced by Nana-sama. You are a goddess. Accept it.

Perhaps because it was late at night and because I already love Rina so much, but this made me laugh. Quite a bit.

Ah, see it doesn’t work in text, but when it’s Rina-sama it totally works. She has what no one else in this series does, comedic timing (or perhaps she’s just controlling me like everyone else to think that she’s funny).

Oh snap Rina! When did she even write that note to stuff in the book? Did she bring it with her? But damn girl, that’s smooth. Girls aren’t supposed to be that smooth! (See? Awesome.)

And she’s so charming about it too. Rina~ I think this is a girl that’s impossible for me to dislike, even if she might not be doing the right things.

*gasp* Is this the onii-chan who bangs books against walls and says worthless!?

And once again, another opportunity where Rina got someone to do something for her. It’s all really small things, but you have to be noticing a pattern. Rina asks for something and she always gets it. So I guess what I’m trying to say is she’s spoiled? But even so, she’s so charming that I don’t care about her being spoiled (she’s not bratty).

Because it had to be pointed out at some point. lol fail manager. They had to make him fat and oh so dorky loooking, didn’t they? How come failures are never attractive?

She is also boring, but I find her tolerable unlike bicycle girl (however, niether is interesting enough to know their names).

Having these two in though does address one problem I had with White Album’s love triangle. If Touya and Yuki have a strained relationship because Yuki is aiming to be an idol, why would Rina be the girl that Touya would turn to? She’s even more famous and busy, right? (Though I guess because she’s Rina she still manages to get time to herself…)

Anyway, having more girls as distractions for Touya is good story-wise I think. Too bad they’re so boring.

Automatic, “oh snap!” upon seeing this scene. Yuki’s got a phone!

Now I assume, we’re supposed to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume that she just got it. (Maybe that’s what she was crying about?)

How awesome would it be if she’s had a phone though? I could feel so much better about cheering Rina on if Yuki really was a bad girlfriend (as opposed to just being weak, annoying, and boring right now).

But even if Yuki has a phone, Rina beat her to the phonecall. Hahahaha. Rina > Everyone

And you can’t blame Touya for possibly being excited because who doesn’t want a phone call from a popular idol? Especially Rina.

And as for Rina…well all’s fair in love and war, right? (It doesn’t matter anyway since if this anime is as predictable as I think it is, Yuki and Touya are still going to be together at the end of the anime…)

So first episodic post on the new blog. I decided to take advantage of the extra space and increased the image sizes.

I’m also going to be blogging this on Mondays from now on. I couldn’t make it on time this week because the new blog just opened up yesterday and today I had to go off to register for class (I did btw and after luckily I just need the four classes this term and then I’ll officially be graduating from high school! I’ll be about one year late, but at least I’m getting a real diploma!).

Anyway (so easily off-topic), I’ll see everyone on monday where I will once again cheer Rina on! Go Rina! Steal away Yuki’s man and give me some drama!
