And hey! It’s just like the old one! Okay not quite, there are some differences, otherwise what would be the purpose in leaving Wordpress.com?

So Simplicity is now being hosted by Kokidokom and so very first thing I will say thank you again to 7 (I don’t know how many times I’ve said it so far, but it needs to be said in public too!). I intended to be tsuntsun and stay away from the offer until I saw that Kanzeon and Amayalee took advantage of 7’s offer. Suddenly three people on my blogroll were all getting together to make a happy family and leaving me behind! It felt especially dramatic because all of them suffered on wordpress.com with me before the sudden change. So I stopped being a stubborn little idiot and politely took 7 up on his offer.

Does this mean I’m the tsundere member of the Kokidokom family? Haha~ I suppose so. I’ll only say that to head off someone else trying to be clever. if you must see me as tsundere, at least see me as the cute kind with twintails and not the bitchy kind that needs to get slapped, ‘kay?

Ah~ Feels like there’s a lot of things to talk about. I know that I am a rambler, but I will do my best to stay organized and on-topic.

First! I want to tell everyone who isn’t already aware from perhaps the first post of the new Metanorn or from 7’s very own offer on his now old blog (I’m going to kind of miss the title “Chirping Crickets” I thought it was cute…) about the offer. Um…there’s an offer. *lame*

In case some people hadn’t realized, at Kokidokom we are being hosted for free and since there’s just five of us so far, there’s plenty of room for others. So feel free to contact him about it on his blog or apparently in the irc channel (*loser who has never used irc, but will have to try now*).

For anyone who feels uneasy about getting hosting from someone, I can tell you that 7 is very, very nice. It would actually be better to ask him if I’m annoying with all of my questions. ^_^;

Yes, yes, which brings me to the next topic, my theme. The real reason I moved my blog was so I could choose amongst more options in design and I am quite satisfied with what I ended up with.

Luckily, I didn’t have to get into coding too much. I went through probably a hundred+ themes trying to find something that was incredibly close to what I wanted. So the main things I was looking for were fixed width, right sidebar, and a decent sized header (that had text displaying over it so I could disable it and have my own).

I came up with the basic design for what I wanted to use as a banner a while ago. I wanted to make it similar to the very first theme I had on Simplicity. So I decided early on to use Amu and some plaid again. Then the DVDs for the anime fit so perfectly with that, so I decided to use one. I ended up choosing the fourth DVD because it’s one of the images of Amu I liked best. She’s showing off her attitude a little~

At first I was going to go for the 8th DVD, but when I finally decided on the them, the banner ended up being just a little wider than I thought it would so I went with the Amu that…took up more space. lol. Also, the darker purple plaid worked better with the theme.

Really quite a simple banner to make, so for once I don’t have a lot to say except…well Simplicity is back for the designs. At least for now.

Now then, the actual theme.Like I said I didn’t have to spend much time with the coding. I lucked out because outside of the links everything that needed to be edited for the colors to match were the images. All I had to do was pop them into photoshop and put a layer of purple color over them and BAM. Done.

But because I do have to change the colors for the theme when I change the banner, I expect I’ll be slowing down what became constant changing now.

Ah…poor Mariya…his trap banner got so little time. Such a shame. That’s the only real regret I have in this move, but whatever. When you’re ready, you go for it.

Now a few other little things. I still need to add in some more plugins to make things that worked on wordpress.com work here, as well as a few other things I want just to give myself more options. I’m mostly settled now though. I finally have my poll widget on the sidebar, so I’m a happy camper.

There’s also a tiny problem when you visit the post with the title going all screwy out of line, but I figure it’s really fine for now. You don’t really need to pay too much attention to the title after you click on it.

I need to still add in my blogroll. I decided to save that for last so no one would happen to see my blog before I wanted them to.

I also finally updated my About page, my Headers page, and I changed the Top Ten to simply Rankings since I intend to start it up again (hopefully next week?). I still need to edit my Schedule page…but that will be fixed up soon too once I actually decide my schedule for good.

Another thing, because I had to import my entries before fixing up the theme, some comments were lost from the past couple of days. I’m sorry about that. I was thinking about trying to import them after, but I’m lazy and I don’t want to risk my theme imploding on me. If you want them to be seen you can post them again I suppose. ^_^;

And let’s see~ What else? I think that’s it.

Now that I’ve made the move, I’m going to be returning to blogging like usual soon hopefully. My headphones are dead though, so I’m having a difficult time watching anime. I have a few in-progress posts that will definitely be posted soon though.

On a personal note quickly, tomorrow I’m registering for classes! So I’ll be a little bit more busy, but it’ll be worth it since I’ll finally be finishing up with high school for good!

So, yes, a pre-warning about a possible slowdown there, but of course, school comes first. Though for now I’ll be so excited to use my special new blog that I’m going to probably be posting a lot more for a few days. Look forward to it!
